The altenative solution is easy and require a low budjet. If you can’t effort for a tubeless kit, you can save money and time with that option.

But first we give a look also to the standard tubeless conversion, to understand well main differences.

Tubeless kit

Tubeless is better, of corse, it give you better performances, but is so expensive and require specific tools. Someone say that you can make also a cheap conversion cutting a tube inside your old tires, but in my opinion is better to buy a good conversion kit. Because you need reliability on the trail. Consider that your tires have to resist to many strikes, impacts and sharp rocks.. so why risk your skinn with a cheap conversion?

Standard tires sides are softer witout tube inside, and it‘s easy to fold they riding. So it’s very easy that the tire moove out from the rim. Spend few money for tubeless can cost you a loot of troubles. Let me know if now you still want ride at full speed with a cheap conversion, imn a trail like that.

To have good results, first of all you will need tubeless ready rims, then tubeless ready tires, rim tape and air valves. And some good sealant fluid. That kit can cost you around 100 bucks. And consider that you will need an air compressor to inflate tubeless tires.

Cheap tubeless conversion alternative.

If you haven’t that budjet you can go to that other cheap option It’s a good alternative, It consint in put fluid inside tubes. I have personally used for almost 2 years, before to go tubeless, and I still use it over my others bikes. So it’s fully tested and approved.

That cheap solution is safer than a bad tubeless conversion, and can be applied in any kind of bike, children or adult bikes. With standard rims, with any kind of tire. Old or new ones, it doesn’t matter.

Let’s see what you need.

Two new tubes, about the right size of your wheels. 26, 27,5 or 29 inches. valve core remover amd some tire Sealant. If your bike tubes are new and suitable you can buy only sealant and core valve remover. You can make that with a cost that start around 10 USD/euro.

You can’t use your old tubes, if they have patches over. Because they will compromise the conversion! Also you can’t if they havent a removable core valve. Suitable tubes can be about two kinds. Depend by your rims, you have to ceck the valve hole. If it is large you can use shrader tubes with large valve. If the rim fit only thiner valves, you must buy a presta valve tube, with removable core. Beware, there where also presta with fixed core.

Then you will need the propper tool to remove the valve core.  Presta core remover or shradder core remover, depending by your choice.

Some good tube sealant. Those are best sealant that I have tested.

Because they contain also little pices of plastic that helps to quickly repair the puncture. And they aren’t tossic. I let you links bellow.

Installation

How to install. The installation is very easy and is the same of a standard tube replacement. You have to use the core valve tool and remove the valve. Unscrew the core. Then fit the tube inside the rim and tire as usual.

Then put the opened valve in that position. At about 7-8 oclock.

Then take the fluid and put betwen 50-90 ml inside each tube. Larger tubes require more sealant. You can use a little bottle or something like a funnel.

Then screw again the core untill it is firm and inflate the tube. Let the wheel roll to make the fluid goes all around inside the tube. The first wheel is made, you can do the same in the other one. Now you can stay safe about flat tires. Most of times you will not notice that you had a puncture because the sealant will make itself the work. Periodicaly ceck the tire pressusre, because the tube will loose air when it repair itself. If the tire goes flat ceck for thorns, and pump again air, then let the wheel roll for a minute. It will fix itself. If you find one or more thorns during a trail, remove one at time, and let the wheel roll. The fluid will repair the tube.

The job is done, if you have any question or sugestion write me in comments below. Thank you for watching, if you liked the video press tumbs up, and dont forget to subscribe!  See you next time. By.
