Montevecchio 23 Raid Enduro Sardegna Sardabike adventures
We make fuel of optimism, and ready for the start, that begin with an encouraging hailstorm.
Witout tink too much, all toghether in the first downhill.
But when you go downhill, you know, you also need to climb. We will pass trought many climbs and downhills. The climb gift beatifull landscapes. Clouds and sun alternate.
The trail has been made almost trought deep vegetation and undergrowth, over muddy and wet terrain. Passing often trought water drains. With wet roots and clammy mooving stones.
Fast downhills, technical downhills, claustrophobical singletracks, with a strong lateral slope.
In that trail there were two kinds of bikers, bikers that are fallen, and bikers that lie.
Those extreme weater conditions of the trail, will let remember that day also for many mechanical troubles. Caused by the wet and insidious terrain. I heard also about lost bikers…
Can’t miss the beatifull old abbandoned mine area. Someone take hard lines.
Again uphill, with an amazing view over the valley that end in the sea.
We had also to dismount from the bike and wait to go forward.
But we can remember that day especially for water. Cold water, ford even more bigger and deeper.
To end well the trail a nice steep and technichal climb.
Finally back to the civilization. Where are waiting for us dry clothes and an hot meal.
Few minutes to change clothes and all toghether to eat.

Nino, 65 years old, and he didn’t care, he created the trail and guided the big group in the leed. He ride with joy him bike from almost 30 years.
That ride is gone, and we had fun, but as Nino said, the best raid is the next one, so see you for the next!
